The eight questions you'll ask next.

Do I need to use my personal WhatsApp number?
No. You get a dedicated WhatsApp Business API (WABA) number — usually your existing landline or a fresh mobile. Your staff don't see customer chats on their personal phones. Everything lives inside the Online eMenu dashboard.
What's the difference between WhatsApp Business app and WhatsApp Business API?
The free "Business app" is for one person on one phone. The Business API (what we set up) is the proper backend connection — multiple agents, automation, integration with your POS, broadcast campaigns, and the green verified tick. You need API for serious restaurant ordering.
Do I still need Talabat / Zomato / UberEats?
For new-customer discovery — yes, they're still useful. But every repeat order should ideally move to WhatsApp, where you pay 0% commission. Many of our restaurants nudge first-time aggregator customers to WhatsApp with a coupon. Within 3 months, 40–60% of orders shift over.
How much does WhatsApp itself charge per message?
WhatsApp charges per "conversation" (a 24-hour window). Service replies (when the customer messages first) are free. Business-initiated marketing messages cost ~₹0.80–1.20 in India, ~AED 0.30–0.45 in the UAE. Order-related notifications inside an active conversation: free.
Can customers from any country order?
Yes. WhatsApp is global. We've set up restaurants serving customers in 30+ countries from one WABA number. Just make sure your payment gateway supports the currencies you want to accept.
How do refunds work?
From the POS, you mark the order as refunded. Money goes back through the original payment gateway (UPI, Mada, card). The customer gets an automatic WhatsApp confirmation. Refund timing depends on the gateway — usually 3–7 working days.
Can I send broadcast offers?
Yes — with two caveats. You can only message customers who've opted in (and they opt in automatically when they place an order). And marketing-template messages need to be pre-approved by WhatsApp (24–48 hr review). We handle the approvals.
Is this GDPR / DPDP / Saudi PDPL compliant?
Yes. Customer data is stored in the region you operate from (EU servers for European customers, AWS Mumbai for India, AWS Bahrain for GCC). Customers can request deletion. Conversations are encrypted end-to-end by WhatsApp.
